AMRA Treasurer 2027: What Does the Treasurer Actually Do?
AMRA needs a new Treasurer for the 2027 season.
After serving as Treasurer for the past two years, Marshall Gerston is officially stepping down at the end of 2026. His departure means the Arizona Motorcycle Riders Association will need someone new to take on this important volunteer leadership role.
But what does the AMRA Treasurer actually do?
If you saw the announcement and immediately thought, “That’s probably not for me,” it may be worth taking a closer look. The position has specific responsibilities that help keep AMRA organized and operating throughout the racing season.
What Does the AMRA Treasurer 2027 Role Involve?
The Treasurer is responsible for AMRA’s funds and securities and for maintaining important financial processes for the organization.
According to the responsibilities of the position, the Treasurer will:
Be responsible for the funds and securities of AMRA.
Receive and provide receipts for money due and payable to the organization.
Deposit money received by AMRA into banks or other approved depositories selected in accordance with AMRA bylaws.
Prepare a Treasurer’s report for each Competition Committee meeting.
File annual reports.
Perform additional Treasurer duties assigned by the President or Competition Committee.
In practical terms, this is a position for someone willing to take responsibility for an important part of AMRA’s operations and consistently keep up with the financial duties of the organization.
Could You Be AMRA’s Next Treasurer?
Volunteer leadership can sound intimidating from the outside, especially if you have never considered serving as an AMRA officer before.
But AMRA has always depended on people from within the community who are willing to contribute their time and skills.
The next AMRA Treasurer 2027 does not need to be the loudest person in the room. Someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable working with financial records and committed to following through on responsibilities could bring valuable skills to the position.
Most importantly, it is an opportunity to contribute to a racing community you already know.
Every AMRA season takes a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes. Clubs, race crews, volunteers and officers all contribute different pieces to make the series happen. Serving as Treasurer is another way to be part of that effort.
AMRA Executive Board Applications Are Open
Treasurer is not the only Executive Board position open for the 2027 election.
AMRA is accepting applications for:
President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer
There is an important difference this year. The current President, Vice President and Secretary may remain in their positions if no other candidates apply. With Marshall stepping down, however, AMRA will need someone new to fill the Treasurer position.
If Treasurer isn't the right fit for you but you have an interest in helping lead AMRA, take a look at the other positions as well.
Different roles require different strengths, and getting involved gives AMRA members an opportunity to contribute their experience, ideas and perspective to the organization.

Applications for the 2027 AMRA Executive Board are due Oct. 28, 2026.
Voting will take place Nov. 19 at the Competition Committee Meeting. New board members will transition into their positions during December in preparation for the 2027 season.
