Round 1 of the 2026 Arizona Motorcycle Racing Association season kicked off in Page, Arizona, setting the tone for an exciting year of competition, community, and growth. Beyond the racing itself, AMRA continues to expand its focus on enhancing the overall race experience through on-site promotion, sponsor visibility, and community engagement at every round.
To capture the full scope of Round 1, from race execution to behind-the-scenes moments, AMRA Sponsorship & Media Officer Karri Owens, with Karri Owens Designs, attended the event and documented the weekend from both an AMRA officer and spectator perspective.
Experiencing the AMRA Round 1 Page Arizona Race Experience
The AMRA Round 1 Page Arizona race experience delivered everything riders and families expect from a season opener: a challenging desert course, cold-weather grit, strong turnout, and a welcoming, well-organized event atmosphere. Co-sanctioned with West Hare Scrambles and hosted alongside the RockStars Motorcycle Club, Round 1 featured top-tier race execution, from registration and pit layout to camping, warming areas, and podium presentation.
AMRA Officer Participation & Podium Finishes
A standout element of Round 1 was the strong presence of AMRA leadership on site, not only supporting race operations, but actively competing. Several AMRA officers lined up in their respective divisions and all podiumed, reinforcing AMRA’s hands-on leadership approach and firsthand understanding of the racer experience.
We would like to recognize the following AMRA officers who raced and podiumed at Round 1:
Phil Carlin, AMRA President
Ben Trapp, AMRA Scoring Officer
Heather Cole, AMRA Secretary
Seeing AMRA officers balancing leadership responsibilities while competing, and standing on the podium, demonstrates the organization’s deep connection to the racing community and commitment to leading by example.
Sponsor Support & Community Engagement
Round 1 also highlighted the importance of sponsor involvement at AMRA events. Having sponsors present on site strengthens racer support, builds relationships within the pits, and adds meaningful value to the overall race weekend experience. AMRA continues to prioritize sponsor visibility and engagement as part of its long-term growth strategy.
In addition, Round 1 marked the launch of AMRA’s Race AMRA, Win a GasGas raffle. Every AMRA racer who competed earned entries toward a chance to win a 2025 GasGas EC300, sourced through AEO Powersports, AMRA’s 2026 Title Sponsor. The program rewards racers for showing up, staying committed, and supporting the series throughout the season.
